The inherent advantage of the crystal crystal is that it employs YAG as the host. YAG’s physical, thermal and optical properties are well known and understood by every laser designer. 
Diode or lamp lasers and runable lasers with tunable output between 1350 and 1550 nm employ CTH:YAG (Cr,Tm,Ho:YAG). High thermal conductivity, strong chemical stability, resistance to UV light, and a high damage threshold are all characteristics of Cr4+:YAG. American Elements adheres to applicable ASTM testing standards and produces to a variety of standard grades, including Mil Spec (military grade), ACS, Reagent and Technical Grade, Food, Agricultural and Pharmaceutical Grade, Optical Grade, USP and EP/BP (European Pharmacopoeia/British Pharmacopoeia), among others. There are standard and unique packing options. A Reference Calculator for converting between the many units of measurement that are important is also provided, along with other technical, research, and safety (MSDS) information.
